This is 1 John chapter 2 verse 15. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him.”
So it says do not love the world or the things in it. So what is the world and the things in it? So we’re gonna look at what it is in this video. And it
says here if anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him.
So if anybody loves the world and the things in it the love of father is not in him. What that means is he’s not saved. So if the father does not love him how can he be saved? The love of the father is not in him and the Holy Spirit is not in him so he’s not sealed with the Holy Spirit and he is not saved.
So what is the world and the things in it? It says here, for all that is in the
world the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes the pride of life is not of the
Father but is of the world. now this world and all the people in this world
are living for this world which is following Satan because God let Satan
rule this world for his purpose and people just love this world and they are
living for their dreams in this world and they love the things in this world.
So this whole world is following Satan and the people in it are having the time of their lives.
It says here the things of this world is not of the Father but is of the world. So many things people enjoy are not from God but from the world and
consequently it’s from Satan because this whole world is following Satan and his values and what are his values?
It’s the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. so what’s the lust of the flesh? It’s the desire to satisfy your flesh. It’s all the sexual desires and physical pleasure. Your sexual desire outside of your marriage is immoral to God.
And the sports the people play in the park like tennis or golf or soccer like healthy sports, those are okay to enjoy but if you go to extreme and if you like to enjoy extreme thrill, extreme sports and if you’re always seeking the thrill of speed or anything like that in extreme nature then you better think
if those are pleasing to God.
And violence – God does not like violence. So those are the lusts of the flesh.
And the lust of the eyes;
Now these days there are so many entertainments like never seen before and even the Christians they are in love with all the entertainments. some might say those are okay. Just watching those, it’s okay but if you think about it, all those TV shows and movies, there are so much violence in it and profane language and all the fighting and anger and swearing all the immoral images even in TV commercials. Now God doesn’t want you to
be a person who does those things but also he doesn’t want you to enjoy
watching them and if you’re really born again then your nature is changed so that the things you enjoyed before are not enjoyable anymore so you don’t like watching people fighting or swearing at each other and sometimes violence can be an entertainment like there are so much sports like extreme sports these days like UFC and boxing. Like, people enjoy watching that but God does not want you to enjoy watching those things and even in this world all the violence and profane language they are rated so even the secular world knows that it’s bad so even more so with God. so if you still enjoy watching those things then you have to really examine yourself if your’re born again.
A lot of Christians might say it’s okay to watch sports on TV. But all the
professional sports, all that is is about self glorifying and they just make the
attention of people so engrossed in this world that is so vain and perishing
instead of the heavenly things and God’s purpose so people especially men, they are so obsessed with sports like they’re checking the scores and transfer news and they are even idolizing the sports players and people are so, like, engrossed in all that is Sports – Olympics and the World Cup -those things are the things that make people’s attention fixated in this world.
And the next thing is the pride of life. Now in the Bible it says you have to deny yourself and follow Jesus but a lot of people, they find it hard to let go of their pride and what other people might think about them so today most of the Christian Churches are secular and most of the Christians are living for this world and the things in it. Even the pastors and church leaders say it’s okay to live for this world and it’s okay to enjoy the things in this world like TV shows and all the movies with all the violence and detestable things to God in it. Most of the churches these days are worldly and Christians are worldly Christians. So a lot of times, if you really want to be born again and deny yourself and follow Jesus then God might ask you to leave all your associations and really follow Jesus but a lot of people, for them, their titles in the church and all the associations and they care more about what other people might think so it’s hard for them to leave all the things of old and truly follow Jesus so they don’t wanna let go of all those self-pride and all the things associated with it so they don’t deny themselves to follow Jesus.
So those things are of this world and it’s not of the Father but is of the world and of Satan. All those things – violence, fighting, those things are from the Satan.
Once again, what happens to the people who love the world and the things in it?
It says here, verse 17, and the world is passing away and the lust of it but he who does the will of God abides forever. So this world and all the things in it all the detestable things and the hell will be thrown into the lake of fire and these things will pass away and all who love this world and who followed after this world and consequently after the Satan, those people will perish with this world but he who does the will of God
abides forever.
So to love this world and love the things in this world, all the satanic values and all the things the follow after the characteristics of Satan and if you enjoy watching those or doing those things then that’s not the will of the Father that’s the will of the Satan. If you keep loving this world and the things in this world against the will of the Father then anyone who does that will perish with this world but he who does the will of God who lives for the purpose of God and seeks the heavily things and righteousness, those people will live forever in the kingdom of God.
