Before, I was having a conversation with a
pastor and I heard him saying, “People, even Christians, immoral thoughts or bad thoughts occur in your head, in average, in every few tens of seconds throughout the day, so it’s
impossible to be holy.”
And, because of that kind of thoughts a lot
of Christians are accepting a false fact that there’s nobody who can live righteously and they live their lives in total defeat thinking that it’s impossible to live holy.
But, while it’s true that so many bad thoughts can pass through your mind everyday, God will not judge you for that kind of passing thoughts. Because, the human thoughts, they are very fast so that it’s very hard to control. So, any moment, a bad or immoral thought can pass through your mind. But, God will not hold you accountable for that.
But what God will hold you accountable is,
if you take hold of that passing thought and with your own will if you develop that thought into a fantasy and you take hold of that thought and enjoy in your heart and if you keep living that way then God will hold you accountable for that even though it’s just a thought.
So we have to watch out what we think and we should not even sin with our minds. So that’s the difference. So although it’s impossible to control the passing thoughts a lot of times but it’s possible to control what you can enjoy with your own will using your mind. So a lot of Christians might have fantasies they enjoy in their mind but those are sins.
Likewise, Jesus said if you look at a woman with a lust in your heart then that’s a sin too. So if you just look at a woman with your lust then that’s a sin. But even a righteous person can sometimes look at a woman at the moment. Your attention can happen to be at a woman. But God will not hold you accountable for that. But look at her with your own will and start
enjoying then that becomes a sin. So there’s a clear difference between those two.
But some might say, in the bible there’s a scripture like there is no righteous person on the earth and it’s impossible to appease God with our actions and there is no one who can be saved by their actions. While there are verses like that in the bible but there are also other verses like in Matthew,
Jesus said, “those who live by the word of God will enter the Kingdom of God”. So, if anyone is living a sinful life thinking that there’s nobody who is perfect and the righteousness is impossible, taking hold of verses like a lot of verses in Paul’s epistles, then they are being deceived.
And I explained about that why there are verses like that in the bible in another video called, “The true purpose of the bible”. If you’d like you can watch that video.
And I encourage you to not be deceived thinking that “Ah! I’m still O.K, because nobody’s perfect so I’m still O.K by the grace of Jesus”. But live holy and clear all the things that are detestable to God from your actions and from your mind.
I wish you blessings from the Lord.
