Then why do we have to believe Jesus?

In the videos I uploaded to the YouTube I explained that not only you have to believe Jesus Christ to be saved but you have to repent to be a holy and obedient servant of God and that repentance includes the repentance from the disobedience of not heeding the calling of God to deny oneself to not live for this world but to live for his kingdom and his purpose.

If I say that some people might wonder then why do you have to believe Jesus? So in this video I’ll explain why we have to believe Jesus.

To help you understand I give you this analogy. If a criminal repents of his wrongdoings and decides to live according to the law then does the judge say, “now you repented to become a good citizen you are free to go”, does he say that? No the criminal still has to pay for his offenses. If he killed somebody then he might be executed or Go to jail. So if somebody repents to be a holy obedient person he still has to pay for his offenses and the Bible says the penalty of sin is is the second death.

It’s not the death everyone experiences at the end of lives but it’s the death of the soul which means going to the lake of fire so everyone, no matter he repented or not he still has to pay for the penalty of his sin. But God did not want those who repented to be holy and obedient, he didn’t want them to end up in the lake of fire so he came up with this method of saving those people who repent. So for those who repent God provides sacrifice so that he or she doesn’t have to pay for his own sin.

Now in the Old Testament times God provided the animal sacrifice so that whoever repents and give the sacrifice designated by God which was the animal sacrifice then his sins were forgiven and he was saved. In the New Testament times he no longer requires animal sacrifice because he gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer on the cross to pay for the sins of those who believe. So those who repent they don’t have to give animal sacrifice anymore. They just have to believe Jesus Christ as a savior who
died for our sins then his suffering is taken by God as a payment for our sins. So that’s how God provides us with a way to escape the lake of fire for those who repented.

So what you have to understand is that the sacrifice God provides is
for those who repent. It is not for those who keep on the wrong path and keep on doing the evil things. So for those who did not return to remain as a sinner or evil beings then a God’s sacrifice is no use for them.

So in the Old Testament times many people, they didn’t abandon their evil ways but they kept giving animal sacrifice thinking that they’ll be forgiven of their sins.

But it says here, Isaiah chapter 1 verse 13, “Bring no more futile sacrifices. Incense is an abomination to me. I cannot endure iniquity and sacred
meeting. When you spread out your hands I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you make many prayers I would not hear. Your hands are full of blood.”

So although they brought many sacrifices to be forgiven, because they haven’t repented, they haven’t abandoned their evil ways, their sacrifice was futile. It says here, futile sacrifices. Because the sacrifice is only for those who repent.

So just like today they assembled to worship God and pray to God but because they haven’t turned away from the evil ways their sacrifice was no use for them.

So it says here, verse 18, “Come now and let us reason together, says the road, though your sins are like scarlet they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson they shall be as wool.”

So you gotta think God’s reason here, that your sins although it is red like scarlet it will be white as snow. How? If you repent to turn from the evil ways to do good and to be holy and righteous then God will accept your
sacrifice and forgive your sins.

So likewise these days many Christians, they are mistaken just like people of the Old Testament times. Today Christians believe that although they don’t repent to be holy and obedient to God, just because they believe the sacrifice, Jesus, their sins will be forgiven to go to heaven.

Like I told you God’s sacrifice Jesus Christ and his blood is only effective
for those who repent to wash their hands to be holy. And for those who do not repent, Jesus’ blood is no use for them.

So why are the Christians in the dark about the truth of salvation? It’s because what they believe is in the Bible. In the book of Romans it says, “confess with your lips that that Jesus is the Lord and if you believe in your heart then you’ll be saved.” Although you commit sin against own will, if you believe Jesus Christ there is now no condemnation. So no matter what anybody says they have firm belief that they are saved although they haven’t repented.

So I’m going to keep uploading videos in the playlist called “Understanding the Bible” as to why there are such verses in the Bible.
