In the video called, “How the three sections of the book of Revelation match with each other”, I explained that the book of Revelation can be dissected into three sections and
there are things happening in order in each section and the sequence of events, they all match with each other. So starting with this video I will explain, going chapter by chapter explaining all the happenings and show that all three sections of the book of Revelation match with each other.
Today we’re going to look at chapter 6. Now, in chapter 6 there are the famous Seven Seals. There are many explanations about the seven seals but the most plausible I found is by Irvin Baxter of End time Ministries.
The Seven Seals – sequential happenings in the history
According to Irvin Baxter the seven seals represent the monumental happenings that happened in the history of mankind from the time of Apostle John to Return of Jesus and beyond. So how do we know that the seven seals represent those sequential events during the
history of mankind? We know that because in the chapter four it says, “Come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this”. After this means at the time of apostle John when he was alive and received this vision and according to Irvin Baxter, the first seal represent Catholicism. And as you know after the time of Apostle John the Catholicism became prominent in Europe. And the fifth seal is the Great Tribulation and the sixth seal describes of the great upheaval of this world, things like stars falling and the Sun being darkened and the moon becoming red, and that same event is described in Matthew chapter 24. In chapter 24 Jesus describes the Great Tribulation happening and right after that the great upheaval in heaven and earth happens and after that Jesus returns. So by that we know that the seven seals describe all the monumental happenings in the history of mankind starting from right after the time of Apostle John through Great Tribulation and return of Jesus and on to later on the 7th seal which is God’s
Judgement.
The First Seal – Catholicism
So I’m gonna start with the first seal. This is Revelation chapter 6
verse 2 “and I looked and behold a white horse he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him and he went out conquering and to conquer. Now, what Irvin Baxter was explaining is that each horse has a distinct color and that those colors give us clues to what these events mean. And the first horse is a white horse.
Now the Catholicism can be described as being white because Catholicism is a branch of Christianity and the Christianity is usually symbolized by white color because usually the Saints
are said to be wearing white robes and Jesus wears a white robe just as in the book of Revelation. And the Pope wears a white robe, too.
And it says here, “he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him and he went out conquering and to conquer.” As you know the Pope was a religious leader as well as a political leader because, as his influence grew he subdued many kings of Europe and
eventually it came to a point where he literally anointed kings or the kings needed approval from the Pope and the pope became the political leader of all of Europe. So it says, “he was given a crown” like a king and he conquered all of Europe as a political leader. As the history shows us the Catholicism became prominent right after the time of Apostle John.
The Second Seal – Communism
And after that the second seal is the red horse. Verse 4, “another horse fiery red went out and it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth and that people should kill one another and there was given him a great sword.” It says here, the Red Horse, and according to Irvin Baxter the color red indicates the communism. Now, as you know from the history, after the Middle Ages, the Industrial Revolution began and after the Communist revolution happened, and then the communism is usually symbolized by the color red. And if you look at the maps of
those times literally almost half of the map of the world is covered with red color.
And during the revolution so many people got killed. So it says here, “take peace from the earth and it was given to him a great sword.” So there is no doubt that the communist revolution was a big movement that dominated on era in the human
history and his color is red.
The Third Seal – Capitalism
And the third seal is a black horse. Verse five, “so I looked and behold a black horse and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in
his hand.” Now, this third seal is a black horse and it symbolizes capitalism. Now the capitalism happened before communism but they competed against each other but eventually the capitalism prevailed over communism. And it says here, it had a pair
of scales in his hand; the scales usually symbolizes economic activities like buying and selling. So the capitalism is about buying and selling. And when you think about the capitalism usually you imagine about those “black” smokes rising from the factories.
The capitalism came along with the Industrial Revolution. So after the Cold War capitalism became the way of life and there’s no doubt
that this is a another great happening in the history of mankind.
The Fourth Seal – Islam
And the fourth seal is a pale horse. Verse 8, “so I looked and behold a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was death and Hades followed with him.” It says pale horse here but the original Greek word was “Chloros” which means pale green or greenish. So the pale horse should be a green horse. And according to Irvin
Baxter this symbolizes Islam. And as you know the color of Islam is green. And all the National flags of these Islamic countries, they all have green.
And it says death and Hades followed with him. Now, after the capitalism the world’s biggest issue now is Islam after 9/11. And for sure there’s a lot of death involved with Islam. They are waging a holy war against the world. And they are terrorizing
the civilization with suicide bombs. And for many of Muslims becoming a martyr is their biggest aspiration and they believe when they die for Allah the heaven waits for them so wherever Islam goes many young people are lined up to become a martyr. Wherever Islam goes there are a lot of death and terror. And it says, “power was given to them over a fourth of the earth.” In 2015, the Islamic population in the world was about 1.8 billion which is about 24 percent of the whole population. It’s about one-fourth of the world
population.
So after the capitalism, now this is the era where the Islam is becoming a global issue and now it looks like the fourth seal has been opened already and at the culmination of this Islamic movement all the Arab countries will attack Israel. In that war God will destroy the attacking army and this era of Islam will come to an end.
The Fifth Seal – The Great Tribulation
And then after that there will be the Great Tribulation. And the fifth seal is the Great Tribulation. It says about the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God. There have been a lot of martyrs in the history but how do we know this is a great tribulation? Because in the next event which is the six seal, we see the great upheaval of heaven and earth and this same event is described in the Mathew 24 right after the Great Tribulation before the coming of Jesus, So we know that this fifth seal before sixth seal of the great upheaval in heaven and earth is the Great Tribulation. So this
book of Revelation and the seven seals, they match with the events of the book of Matthew chapter 24. So it says, “how long oh Lord”, verse 10, “until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth.” In the great tribulation, a lot of saints will be martyred and this martyrs are pleading to God to avenge their blood. Because after the Great Tribulation, after the coming of Jesus, God will judge the world and he will pour out his judgment on those followers of the Antichrist and avenge the blood of the Saints. And it says here, “then a white robe was given to each of them and it was said to them they should rest a little while longer.” So, in Chapter 7, you see that the people clothed with white robes and John is asking, “who are they?”, and it says here, “these are the ones who come out of the Great Tribulation.” So in the Great Tribulation, many saints will be martyred and they will be given the white robes so it says here these white robe people are from the
Great Tribulation. So, many of them will be martyred until the
number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. So until the number is completed many saints will be martyred in the Great Tribulation.
The Sixth Seal – Return of Jesus
And the sixth seal is the great upheaval of heaven and earth. Verse 12, “I looked when he opened the sixth seal and behold there was a
great earthquake and the Sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood. The stars of heaven fell to the earth and the kings of the earth the great men and the rich men the commanders the mighty men, every slave and every free men hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks, fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of his wrath has come and who is able to stand?” So this great cosmic disturbances, this same event is described in Matthew 24 right after the Great Tribulation just before the coming of Jesus so we see here this great upheaval of heaven and earth and we see the kings of the earth hiding behind the rocks because the great day of his wrath has come. Because right after this great upheaval of heaven and earth Jesus will return. So why is it the great day of his wrath? Because when Jesus returns for those who are waiting for Jesus, the true brides of Jesus, for them it’s the day of rejoicing but for those who followed after the Antichrist, for them it’s the great and terrible day, the great day of his wrath. Because after Jesus returns God will judge the world and all the followers of the Antichrist on the earth with great supernatural plagues so they are hiding behind the rocks because of all the judgment that will fall upon them. So after this sixth seal there should be the return of Jesus and the rapture.
So in Chapter 7, we should see the return of
Jesus and continuing with the next video we will see if Jesus’ return is described in the chapter 7. And I will continue going chapter by chapter and describe in detail all the happenings in the book of Revelation.
